How to Pack Kitchen Items for Moving
The basic skill needed to pack kitchen items for moving is to know what goes at the bottom of each box and how to nicely pack each box.
The reason you will forever hear people cry about their utensils breakages is because of poor skills in packing and arranging the moving boxes.
Heavy kitchen utensils should be packed at the bottom of each moving box. These include boxes, cups, and such heavy kitchenware.
Glasses should be packed separately and be better wrapped with good glass wrapping materials.
The skill to do it however needs some experience to know how to wrap each cup, plate, and such materials to avoid scratching.
It always looks weird to eat from a ceramic plate with some scratches.
Each box in the kitchen should be well labeled immediately after sealing.
Recently we came across a young man who was crying in the estate after separating from his newly wedded wife for a silly mistake.
The couple had agreed to find a moving company to move them to a new house, however, the guy decided to hire out some cheap street guys with a canter to do the move so as to save a few coins.
The moving guy packed the kitchenware so fast! Unfortunately, the truck guys for lack of know-how ended up overloading some boxes.
On arrival at their new house, all the utensils were completely broken including the precious import wine glasses the young lady had received from her mom in Italy.
Sad! Why save a few coins in exchange for quality?
You should never think relocation is expensive, it’s cheap when you get the right quality. Here are some moving charges.
If only the truck guy had enough manpower, proper packing material, and people with experience to pack the boxes, our good friend would have not momentarily separated from his Italian wife.
He didn’t have the requisite kitchen hacks.
Kitchen Hacks
One of the best kitchens hacks is to get bubble wrappers to help you in moving your kitchen utensils.
Bubble wrappers are big secrets to packing your kitchenware. The reason is that bubble wrappers have many air bubbles that reduce impacts.
Therefore, at the bottom of each box put a big bubble wrapper to reduce external impacts.
After wrapping each utensil and placing it at the bottom of the box, ensure you add a bubble wrapper layer on top of your well-arranged and wrapped utensils before you put another utensil on top of the bottom layer.
Reasons why? Bubble wrapper reduces bumping pressure hence reducing utensil breakages.
Is this not a kitchen hack in packing your plates?
Another kitchen hack is observing the box size you are packing fragile kitchen utensils.
Ensure you put super fragile utensils separately in small boxes.
This reduces breakages that occur when you use big boxes that leave spaces, the spaces in the boxes make your utensils dance whenever the truck sway.
Consequently, big boxes tend to be overloaded while in the kitchen. Use small boxes for delicate utensils.
Similarly, do not mix fragile utensils with other pieces of stuff like plastics. Plastic kitchen stuff should rather be packed in big separate boxes.
Nevertheless, avoid placing the labeled boxes containing the plastics below other heavy boxes. Plastics break too.
Moving Order
So in what order should you move out the packed kitchen boxes? Boxes containing delicate utensils should be moved out first and placed far inside the moving truck.
This placement reduces box movements and unnecessary shaking that happens at the back part of the truck.
Nevertheless, if you have too many packed boxes, you can place the delicate utensil boxes on top of other boxes but ensure they are steady and safe from unnecessary movements.
However, always ensure you do not place other stuff on top of the delicate boxes.
As we sum up, ensure you get a good packing team, do not hurry to pack your kitchenware, and ensure it is professionally done.
